NORTHWOODS ALLIANCE TEAMS

The Northwoods Hockey Program was established to provide hockey opportunities to Northwoods skaters. Our teams travel to tournaments in Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Illinois for competitive games against other spring organizations.  Our goal is to continue improving the quality and reputation of our program, it's skaters, and hockey in Wisconsin each year.  Our Northwoods AA spring teams are called The Alliance. Each of our spring teams are talent based squads that participate in ability based tournaments. 

ALLIANCE TEAM STRUCTURE

The Alliance Teams structure their spring program out of Minocqua in collaboration with member organizations of Northern and Central Wisconsin.

Team Selection

Skaters are encouraged to attend our evaluations for team placements on our AA Alliance teams. At our evaluations skaters will be placed on our AA, A, or B teams based on the amount of skaters signed up to participate. 

Each team will consist of 9 forwards, 6 defensemen, and 2 goalies. The registration will cap out once there are 27 forwards, 18 defensemen, and 6 goalies signed up for that age division. If you sign up and the selected position is at capacity, there will be a waitlist option for your skater. 

Practice Locations

Skaters attend their local teams practice slots and can even attend other members Alliance practices. Each Alliance practice is structure on developing individual skills run by either a Northwoods coaching specialist. Prior to attending their first tournament, the Alliance teams will participate in a team camp weekend to have a weekend of team building, practices, off ice training, and video.  

Practices will be hosted in Minocqua, and a southern location to be announced soon.  Minocqua practices will be on Tuesday and Wednesday nights and the southern location will be announced soon.

Squirts 5:45 PM-6:45 PM

Peewee 7:00 PM-8:00 PM

Bantam 8:15 PM- 9:15 PM

Wednesday Night Practice Schedule in Minocqua:

Alliance Evaluation Dates and Locations

Evaluations are held at Lakeland Hawks Ice Arena in Minocqua, WI

March 11th & 12th

Squirts 5:00 pm- 6:15 pm

Peewee 6:30 pm- 7:45 pm

Bantam 8:00 pm- 9:15 pm

ALliance Tournaments

Each team will play in at least two tournaments based in Wisconsin, Illinois, or Minnesota. Tournaments will be posted for each team shortly.
